Moodboard
The direction for this project was built on the idea of stepping away from the traditional images usually found in most play posters and towards a more symbolic approach by using colors, interesting type, and bold fonts to communicate the narrative.
Rough drafts
Final design
The leading lines represent train tracks, cutting the type to create a sense of mystery and unease. Choosing a serif font was done to add a sense of high class and fanciness. The idea of smoke was added to add some visual interest and to lead the eye inward.
